There are many must-visit places to discover just a short distance from our quiet caravan park.
READ MORELocated just 15 minutes’ walk from our caravan park is the historic market town of LLanidloes.
This ancient market town dates back to the 12th century. There are still buildings from the 17th Century, including the Market Hall – the only one of its kind in Wales.
Llanidloes town has retained its relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect place to for a leisurely days’ shopping or bite to eat in one of the many cafes or eateries.
For such a small town it punches well above its weight. Home to the Hafren Forest and Llyn Clywedog, situated in the Cambrian Mountains, Llanidloes has a way of making you feel like you are a million miles from the noisy congested streets of everyday life when you’re only an hour from the Wales/England border.
You can find almost anything you need in LLanidloes. Handily, it’s only a 15 minute walk from our riverside caravan park, so you can quickly nip into town and peruse the many shops, cafes and galleries.
There are a range of places to eat and drink near including everything from take-away meals to a really nice sit down dinner.

The Cobblers Tea Room:
Cobblers Tea Room is quaint and cosy on the High Street in Llanidloes. It is a traditional tea room offering a selection of homemade cakes, sandwiches, and hot and cold drinks, as well as traditional welsh rarebit.
Angel Hotel:
Built in 1748 and originally another timber-framed central chimney house the Angel Hotel is a great little pub serving Abbot Ale and Bishops Finger amongst the Real Ales, food is also available.
Evans Fish Bar:
It’s hard to beat traditional fish and chips, isn’t it? If you can’t resist cod or haddock and chips then head on down to Evans Fish Bar.
The Red Lion:
The Red Lion Hotel on Longbridge Street offers an array of pub favourites, specials board and some brilliant Welsh ales as well as a fantastic Sunday carvery.
The Crown and Anchor:
The Crown and Anchor is an ideal pub for a quiet pint, serving Real Ales. It has a lovely beer garden out the back.
The Great Oak Cafe:
The Great Oak Cafe is well known for it’s menu of vegetarian wholefood and caters for special dietary needs such as vegan, wheat and dairy free including tasty Soup of the Day such as carrot & coriander, spicy parsnip or leek and potato and includes dishes such as lasagna, varied quiches, Thai or Indian curry, pizza, flans or shepherdess pie and has an extensive freshly made salad bar.
The Royal Head:
This family run pub in Llanidloes sells real ales and has an extensive bar menu with traditional favourites and weekly specials and are well known locally for their Thai Green Chicken Curry or Steak and Ale Pie.
