Wildlife and Birds

We have a wide range of Wildlife and Birds around the Holiday Home Park, there is nothing more relaxing than sitting out listening to the river and seeing birds on the feeder. Much of the park is set aside for wild life refugees and we actively support the RSPB.


			Great Crested Newts
			We have the rare and protected Great Crested Newts in the Nature Pond that forms part of one of the walks on the land around the park.


	Red Kites and Buzzards
	Both Red Kites and Buzzards can be seen overhead riding the thermals and hunting for small mammals, they circle slowly only to dive down onto their prey with great speed, well worth bringing your Binoculars to the caravan.


			Kingfishers
			Kingfishers live in the banks of the Clywedog River that runs through the Caravan Park, you can often see the glint / flash of the bright blue feathers as they dart too and fro sometimes with a fish in their mouth.


	Trout and Salmon
	Trout and Salmon jump up the river during spawning season, the Trout are here all season and you can see them take the Fly Hatches from the surface of the river whilst the Salmon are mostly seen in September / October when they travel back to the spawning ground here on the river.


			Ducks
			We get Mallard ducks near the caravans, and they can be seen frolicking on the river.


	Ospreys
	Ospreys have been seen regularly on the Dyfi Estuary for many years during the spring and autumn migration seasons. The http://www.dyfiospreyproject.com on the Dyfi Estuary is worth visiting during nesting season.


			Otters on the park
			Otters are fun creatures to watch and they are highly intelligent, they love to frolic in the river waters, their main diet is fish. Otters spend the majority of their time on land and are often seen about the park looking for fish in the river.
